Welcome to the Hot August Fringe Festival

The festival is curated and produced by the Royal Vauxhall Tavern in South East London. Each year we present five weeks full of sharp comedy, brilliant bands, incredible cabaret, spoken word, unforgettable theatre and hilarious hi-jinx.

In 2011, our highlights at the RVT included FarRemoved presenting the premier of their theatre production ‘Out Of The Gardens’; Ophelia Bitz chairing an evening of antique porn and mass debate in ‘Art Wank’; RVT regulars Club Wotever with Wotever Sex; camp madness from Bistrotheque legends The Lipsinkers; music from Al Pillay, Sheila Lord and Atomizer; drag cabaret from Miss Hope Springs, Myra Dubois and Son of a Tutu; plus a sensational homage to polyester from  Lorraine Bowen.

Over at our second HAF venue, The Battersea Barge, we presented, amongst others, spectacular performances from Miss Kimberley, Marcus Reeves, Alan A and The Mustdashios.

No need to rush, you can stay all night!

Our unique ticketing system at the Hot August Fringe means that if you buy a ticket for one performance, you are welcome to stay and watch all the shows programmed that evening at the same venue. We invite you to make a donation to the other performances by dropping a bit of cash into the infamous HAF bucket, this is strictly optional but any donations you make go directly to the artists.

Royal Vauxhall Tavern

Though the Hot August Fringe is over until July 2012, the fun continues every night of the week at the RVT. We bring you a variety of entertainment from bingo and cabaret to club nights, performance art and chat shows.

We have food available on week nights and our bar prices remain reasonable during these financially difficult times.
